Frequently Asked Questions

What is an Intelligent Integrator?

An Intelligent Integrator is a systems integration business that has converted delivery capability into advisory capability: diagnosing how clients work before deciding what to build, and earning recurring advisory revenue alongside project delivery. It is assessed through the 4D Delivery Framework™ and operates on the Strategic Diagnostic Engine. The term describes a capability the business holds, not a badge it displays. It is the integrator lens of the Intelligent Workplace™ system.

What is the 4D Delivery Framework?

The 4D Delivery Framework is the canonical lens for assessing system integrator delivery maturity. It evaluates four interdependent capabilities. Design covers solution design quality, user journey mapping, and architecture alignment. Deploy covers engineering depth, configuration capability, platform integration, and installation reliability. Deliver covers support, monitoring, responsiveness, service levels, and long-term service quality. Differentiate covers consulting capability, innovation, cross-vendor integration confidence, and competitive positioning. Each dimension is scored on a five-stage ladder: Fragmented, Emerging, Defined, Aligned, Intelligent.

How is the 4D Delivery Framework different from the 4W Workplace Framework?

They assess different parties. The 4W Workplace Framework assesses an enterprise's readiness for human and AI collaboration across Workforce, Workflow, Workspace, and WorkTech. The 4D Delivery Framework assesses the integrator that designs, deploys, and maintains that enterprise's environment. An enterprise is never scored on 4D and an integrator is never scored on 4W. The two frameworks meet at the point where an integrator brings a 4W conversation into a client account.

Who is this publication for?

The people who run delivery: project managers, engineering and service leads, presales, and the owners and directors of small and mid-sized integration firms in AV, unified communications, and IT. It is written for operational leaders, not boardrooms. If you are responsible for whether the tenth deployment is as clean as the first, this is written for you.

What is 4D Delivery Intelligence?

4D Delivery Intelligence is the capability an integrator acquires when it can assess, diagnose, and improve its own delivery maturity using the 4D Delivery Framework, and then carry that diagnostic capability into its clients' accounts. It is the difference between knowing the four dimensions and being able to run them as a method.

Is there an assessment I can take?

The 4D Delivery Framework is assessed through the Strategic Diagnostic Engine, using twenty structured questions, five per dimension, scored with evidence. The 4D Capability Assessment is currently open by waitlist through the framework page at intelligentworkplace.ai/integrators-4d. A self-assessment for enterprises on the 4W Workplace Framework is live at intelligentworkplace.ai.

What is the Strategic Diagnostic Engine?

The Strategic Diagnostic Engine is a three-phase diagnostic method, Collect, Diagnose, Strategize, that converts organisational complexity into structured, evidence-based transformation intelligence. It is the single method underneath all four frameworks (4W, 4D, 4C, 4P) and is governed by the Human-AI Intelligence Charter, which sets out how human authority and AI capability work together in the diagnostic process.

How does The Intelligent Integrator relate to The Intelligent Workplace?

The Intelligent Workplace is the category and the enterprise operating model. The Intelligent Integrator is the delivery organisation that builds it. This site takes the same frameworks published at intelligentworkplace.ai and writes them from the integrator's side of the table. Nothing here redefines a framework; it applies one.

Who publishes this site?

The Intelligent Integrator is published by Strategic Pathways Pte Ltd, Singapore, and written by its founder, Marc A. Remond. Strategic Pathways is a system architect for human and AI enabled growth and execution across Asia Pacific and global markets. It is not a consulting firm, a marketing agency, or a technology vendor, and it does not sell or resell integration products.

How often is new content published?

Weekly. Articles follow the release cadence of The Intelligent Workplace Podcast and the framework deep-dive series, with additional field commentary around major industry events.

Can I cite or republish this content?
